This disease involves a permanent enlargement of parts of the lung. The patient may experience shortness of breath, chest pain, wheezing and frequent lung infections. This person will have a permanent cough with a large amount of phlegm production.

Usually, the goals of physiotherapy treatment would include assisting the patient to cough out and get rid of the phlegm, to breathe easier and to teach the patient how to maintain their own lung hygiene at home too.
